We have created a Bereavement ‘Package’. It is intended to be given to people who are newly bereaved and their families.
It is a folder with 2 small booklets, a journal, some contact information and links to helpful websites and organizations.
We know that people who are newly bereaved are likely not going to want to read long explanations about the grieving process, so the booklets are short and simple and can be read a page or a sentence at a time.
The booklets are listed below (note: You can reach them by clicking on the highlighted text):
A Guide to
Understanding Your Emotions when you are Grieving
We have included a
small journal. On each page there is a different quote.
There are as many nights as days,
and the one is just as long as the other
in the year’s course.
Even a happy life cannot be without a
measure of darkness,
and the word happy would lose it’s meaning
If it were not
balanced by sadness
This journal is an
opportunity to express your thoughts and feelings, capture memories,
acknowledge your grief and honour the person you loved.
Journaling can
help clarify what you are thinking and feeling, be a place of solace, a safe
place to reveal your pain and your fears, a private place to remember.
As the story of
your unique journey unfolds in your journal’s pages we wish for you a path
through grief to a new place of light and peace.
These ‘packages’ are available at no cost. If you need one or more please call the Coordinator at 848-5751
